Bangkok Bank and the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) in Thailand are partnering to offer special financing for homeowners who want to install solar panels to reduce their electricity bills. Known as the Bualuang Poonphol Green Loans, packages include an interest rate with a -1% margin on top of the bank’s minimum retail rate throughout the loan period of up to 10 years. Inspections are free. PEA customers who install solar rooftops to their homes with loans worth THB500,000 ($16,100) or more will be also eligible for a THB2,000 voucher from the Central Group. The loan is open to homeowners without a mortgage or Bangkok Bank customers who already have home loans.
