On January 29, 2025, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) held a welcoming ceremony at Suvarnabhumi Airport for Chinese tourists celebrating the Chinese New Year. This event was designed to leave a lasting impression on visitors, enhance Thailand’s reputation as a travel destination, and commemorate the 50th anniversary of Thai-Chinese diplomatic ties.

The ceremony featured distinguished guests such as Mr. Sorawong Thienthong, Thailand’s Minister of Tourism and Sports; Mrs. Chang Yumeng, Cultural Counsellor from the Chinese Embassy; Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor; Pol. Lt. Gen. Saksira Pheuak-um, Tourist Police Commissioner; and Mr. Kittipong Kittikachorn, Suvarnabhumi Airport’s General Manager. Their presence emphasized the importance of this celebration.
A Warm Reception
Thai Airways Flight TG 663, arriving from Shanghai at 11:41 a.m., marked the highlight of the event. Tourists were warmly greeted at the airport, receiving symbolic lucky gift bags. This initiative reflects Thailand’s dedication to enhancing its international tourism appeal and strengthening its bilateral relations with China, especially during the Year of the Dragon.
