BEIJING, Sept. 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Weihai, a coastal city sitting in east China’s Shandong Province, welcomed a new "dweller" in its integrated free trade zone, the certification center for auto parts export to the Republic of Korea (ROK) recently.

For years, Weihai Integrated Free Trade Zone has leveraged its forefront role in boosting Sino-ROK cooperation and cultivated a batch of competitive manufacturers in semiconductor, electronics, and food processing fields.

In mid-August, Weihai Integrated Free Trade Zone, Korea Testing Certification (KTC) and Korea Automobile Parts Association (KAPA) signed a tripartite agreement over the certification center.

According to them, the certification center, upon completion, will take advantage of related favorable policies in the free trade zone to forge a global certification service regime for auto parts and other related daily necessities and home appliances.

Apart from this, an integrated operating system that includes certification, storage and export will also be built to craft a new paradigm for Sino-ROK auto parts supply chain collaboration.

With complete functions, pleasant policy environment and simple service procedures, Weihai Integrated Free Trade Zone will partner with KTC and KAPA to pool respective resources and shape a pivotal local hub to connect the Chinese and ROK markets.

Currently, many large trade and logistics platforms such as AliExpress and Korean e-commerce operator Coupang have been operating business units in Weihai Integrated Free Trade Zone, giving rise to a clustering effect in local electronic information, cross-border e-commerce, and auto parts sectors.

South Korean company LandMarkRed Co., Ltd. and Chinese one-stop auto post-market service firm New Carzone were also present at the launching ceremony of the certification center.
