Worklounge launches a premium membership granting remote professionals and executives access to exclusive hotel lounges across Thailand. Their platform is a plug-and-play workspace concept connecting hotels with remote workers.

With more than twenty hospitality partners already onboard including names like Sofitel, InterContinental, and Anantara, the startup is betting big on the luxury market

Worklounge’s mobile app makes it easy for the upper echelon of remote professionals to get on-demand access to a network of hotel business lounges. With a full suite of business and lifestyle amenities onsite, members can enjoy flexibility in planning their day and a wide choice of locations.

It’s a compelling alternative to going to the office or limiting oneself to a single coworking membership. The flexible workspace startup also positions itself to capture the intersecting markets of executive jetsetters and luxury travelers who are increasingly blurring the lines between traveling for business or pleasure.

Co-Founders Riku Penttinen and Benjamin Assuied

Co-Founders Riku Penttinen and Benjamin Assuied both come from hospitality backgrounds, with experience leading hotel brands in Asia, Europe, and South America. Working separately at the forefront of flexible workspace startups and remote work focused hotel brands, they’ve developed an expertise in understanding the needs of hospitality brands and a new generation of consumers.

Partnering up to launch Worklounge, they are excited about the explosive adoption of remote working.

“Many hoteliers are preparing for post-pandemic travel by reconfiguring spaces and trying out different work from hotel concepts. While these are important initiatives, what we’re helping our partners realize is that they already have the right assets in hand – and we have tools to attract customers both domestically and from abroad.”

“Our approach helps hotels to monetize their underutilized spaces and offer a workspace product that truly speaks to the consumer, which makes for a great pitch. Thanks to our roots and strong relationships in the hotel sector, we’ve been able to scale rapidly with the support of truly prestigious partners.”

Worklounge launches their membership program with over twenty luxury lounges across Thailand’s top destinations, such as Bangkok, Phuket, and Koh Samui. They are poised for rapid expansion, with partnerships in the pipeline across Southeast Asia.

“We are initially launching in Thailand, but have gained great traction within the hotel sector across South East Asia and are already signing up partner lounges in Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Eventually, the goal is to scale the platform regionally and within a few years, globally.”

Co-Founders Riku Penttinen

As restrictions continue to ease and the country is moving towards an endemic approach, it remains to be seen how companies will implement permanent remote or hybrid work policies. If the rest of the world serves as an example, remote work is here to stay and Worklounge provides a fantastic solution to the future of workspace distribution.
