The issue was discussed on 28 November 2024, when Mr. Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, paid an official visit to Thailand. This marked the first visit by a foreign leader to Thailand under Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra’s tenure.

Upon his arrival at Government House in Bangkok, the Prime Minister of Singapore attended an official welcoming ceremony and held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Paetongtarn.

During the meeting, both prime ministers emphasized the importance of long-standing ties and close cooperation in many areas. As the two countries will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2025, there will be high-level exchanges throughout the year.
