The Tourism Authority of Thailand welcomed Norse Atlantic Airways’ inaugural flight from London to Bangkok, part of a campaign boosting UK travel and tourism revenue with joint marketing initiatives.
Norse Atlantic Airways’ Inaugural Flight
On 28 October 2025, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) celebrated Norse Atlantic Airways’ inaugural flight from London-Gatwick to Bangkok. The 27 October arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport marked a significant milestone, welcomed with a traditional Thai ceremony. TAT executives, alongside Airports of Thailand representatives, greeted passengers with souvenirs, showcasing Thailand’s renowned hospitality.
Expanding Flight Routes
The new London-Gatwick to Bangkok route is part of Norse Atlantic’s winter 2025/2026 schedule, running until 12 April 2026 with 99 total flights. Initially, two to three weekly flights will increase to four to five from December, using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. TAT’s Airlines Focus strategy for long-haul markets has proven successful, according to Ms. Suladda Sarutilavan, Director of TAT Europe.
Promoting Tourism and Sustainability
In collaboration with Norse Atlantic, TAT launched marketing campaigns from September to November 2025, boosting winter tourism to Thailand. Initiatives include social media contests, digital advertising, and promotions on platforms like Expedia and Skyscanner. The campaign highlights Thailand’s attractions, responsible tourism, and unique destinations, aiming to attract 1.13 million UK travelers by 2025’s end, generating approximately 70.46 billion Baht in revenue.
