Promoting Sustainable Tourism in Thailand
Bangkok, 26 June 2024 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently held the “Eco-Discovery in Amazing Thailand” event from June 22-25, 2024. This showcase promoted responsible tourism, enhancing Thailand’s image as a sustainable destination. The event highlighted Thai tourism enterprises distinguished by their excellence in sustainable operations, honored with the 14th Thailand Tourism Awards (TTA).
Highlighting Award-Winning Tourism Sites
Delegates including 24 travel professionals and 11 influencers explored sustainable tourism experiences in Chiang Rai, Nakhon Ratchasima, Samut Songkhram, and Phetchaburi. Participants visited award-winning sites such as Chiang Saen Social Tourism Community Enterprise, Ban Tha Khan Thong Homestay, and Ban Suk Somboon Social Tourism Community Enterprise. These visits underscored Thai cultural values and community-centric tourism.
Networking and Future Developments
On June 25, participants gathered in Bangkok for a product debrief, trade meet, and networking dinner. The debriefing session provided insights for refining tourism products, while the trade meet offered a platform for business discussions between Thai tourism enterprises and international professionals. The event concluded with a farewell dinner for 80 participants, aiming to spread Thailand’s reputation as a sustainable tourism destination.
