Launch of “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism Year 2025”
Bangkok, 15 July 2024 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced the “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism Year” in its 2025 marketing plan, aimed at revitalizing Thai tourism according to the government’s “IGNITE THAILAND’S TOURISM” vision. The announcement was made during the TAT Strategic Direction for 2025 conference, presided over by Thailand’s Minister of Tourism and Sports H.E. Mr. Sermsak Pongpanit. Key figures from both public and private tourism sectors attended the event.
Strategic Focus on Tourism Growth
TAT Governor, Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, emphasized TAT’s efforts to drive demand and shape supply for a thriving tourism ecosystem in 2025. TAT targets a 7.5% increase in tourism revenue, aiming for 39 million international visitors and 205 million domestic trips. The year will highlight “Thai Charms” and “Hidden Gem Cities” to promote travel across the country. City marketing will be used to evenly distribute tourism income, reduce seasonality, and attract visitors through diverse must-do activities.
Diverse Market Strategies
For international markets, TAT will focus on driving growth in 23 potential markets and increasing flight routes. Special promotions will target new generation travellers from short-haul regions like China and Japan, and luxury travellers from long-haul markets like Europe and America. For Chinese tourists, the 50th-anniversary celebration of Thai-Chinese relations will include special events and joint promotions. TAT’s domestic strategy will boost spontaneous trips through events and local experiences, all aligned with sustainable tourism goals and high-value tourism growth.
