CHANGJI, China, Dec. 2, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — "We are extremely grateful for the support from the power supply company, which gives us peace of mind. We no longer have to worry about power issues affecting our yield and product quality," said Wang Guoying, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Xigou Village, Dianba Town, Changji City. She expressed her gratitude to the staff from State Grid Changji Power Supply Company during their inspection of the newly installed transformers at the chili drying factory in Xigou Village on December 2.
This year, Dianba Town has focused on developing the chili industry, creating a complete industrial chain that spans from planting, harvesting, and drying to deep processing.
"We are producing the Honglong No. 23 variety of chili, with a daily output of around 4 tons of dried chilies. We expect to finish production by the end of November, with an estimated total of approximately 600 tons. Our products are primarily sold wholesale, distributed across Xinjiang, with some shipments to Sichuan, Chongqing, and other regions," said Ren Xianliang, the director of the Xigou Village Chili Drying Factory.
This chili drying factory is a key rural revitalization project for 2024 in Changji City. It is jointly funded by central government linkage funds, the village committee, and large-scale growers. The project has a total investment of 22.5 million yuan and includes two chili production lines, storage facilities, and other necessary infrastructure. The factory is capable of processing five types of chili, including board peppers and facing heaven peppers.
State Grid Changji Power Supply Company has streamlined the installation process, completing the setup of three transformers and building a dedicated 5-kilometer power line to ensure timely operation. The company’s party member service team proactively provided on-site support, conducting comprehensive inspections and maintenance of the power supply lines and equipment. They established a 24-hour emergency repair mechanism to ensure that any faults are swiftly addressed.
This year, Xigou Village is expected to generate an annual income of over 2 million yuan from dried chilies, with approximately 1 million yuan in dividends. The per capita income of villagers is expected to reach 70,000 yuan. Xigou Village plans to expand its chili planting area to further increase villagers’ income and continue the robust development of the chili industry.
