Live demonstration highlights technologies designed to reduce diesel dependence and maintain mine productivity

ORDOS, China, Oct. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — LGMG showcased electric mining equipment, ultra-fast charging and integrated energy management at its inaugural Global Mining Customer Service Festival in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, held Oct. 9–11. More than 500 representatives from mining companies, industry organizations, technology partners and the media attended.

At an operating mine, participants saw LGMG electric mining trucks, intelligent fleet dispatch systems, solar power generation, energy storage and ultra-fast charging infrastructure working together under actual mining conditions.

The demonstration illustrated LGMG’s approach to mining electrification, extending beyond individual machines to encompass supporting energy infrastructure. Its integrated solar-storage-charging-transportation system combines renewable electricity generation, battery storage and megawatt-class charging. A centralized energy management platform coordinates power distribution, charging operations and fleet dispatching to support equipment utilization and production efficiency.

A major technology highlight was LGMG’s ultra-fast charging electric mining truck, capable of charging its battery from 20% to 90% in 23 minutes under test conditions. LGMG also reported that its charging system can deliver nearly 800 kWh in 18 minutes under extreme operating conditions, with peak charging power reaching approximately 3.6 MW.

The truck incorporates a 3C fast-charging architecture, a high-density, large-capacity battery pack and a dedicated thermal-management system engineered for temperatures from -30°C to 50°C. Faster charging is designed to minimize downtime and help maintain fleet productivity.

For remote mines with limited grid capacity, combining on-site renewable generation, energy storage and high-capacity charging can reduce reliance on diesel-generated electricity. LGMG’s intelligent mine management systems coordinate equipment operations, charging requirements and available power to improve energy efficiency and equipment utilization.

LGMG also introduced an upgraded global customer service initiative encompassing spare parts, maintenance, intelligent mining operations and remanufacturing. The initiative is designed to support equipment reliability and customers’ transition to electrified, digitally connected fleets.

The company is expanding its electric equipment portfolio for overburden removal, coal mining and challenging terrain, while developing solutions for high-altitude sites and extreme temperatures.

Together, these technologies aim to make large-scale mining electrification more practical while reducing operating costs and emissions without compromising productivity.
