• Only apparel manufacturer in Korea selected, recognizing its leadership in global sustainability
  • Advancing greenhouse gas reduction initiatives across global operations and strengthening climate action throughout its supply chain

SEOUL, South Korea, Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Sae-A Trading, an affiliate of Global Sae-A Group and a leading global apparel manufacturer, has been named a LEAD Company by the UN Global Compact Network Korea (UNGC Korea) for the second consecutive year. The recognition was announced at the 2026 Korea Leaders Summit hosted by UNGC Korea.

Established by the United Nations in 2000, the UN Global Compact (UNGC) is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, bringing together more than 25,000 companies and organizations across over 160 countries. It works with businesses to embed its Ten Principles on human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption into their strategies and operations.

Each year, UNGC Korea recognizes 10 companies and organizations from its approximately 360 members as LEAD Companies for their contributions to advancing sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices. Sae-A Trading has earned this distinction for the second consecutive year, making it the only apparel manufacturer among this year’s 10 honorees.

Since joining the UNGC in 2024, Sae-A Trading has demonstrated its commitment to driving meaningful change across the global apparel industry by turning ESG principles into concrete action.

The company has maintained a dedicated sustainability management team since 2008, making ESG a core component of its business strategy with a focus on practical implementation. In 2023, Sae-A Trading further strengthened its commitment by elevating its ESG organization to division-level status and placing it directly under the CEO.

As part of its climate action efforts, Sae-A Trading became the first apparel manufacturer in Korea to receive approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its 2050 net-zero target in 2024. This milestone laid the foundation for a long-term strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The company continues to advance emissions reduction efforts across its overseas production facilities, including expanding solar power capacity, increasing renewable energy use, and improving energy efficiency.

Sae-A Trading is also working to strengthen climate action across its supply chain. The company is expanding its use of sustainable cotton and recycled and recyclable materials while adopting internationally recognized standards and certification systems. These efforts help ensure greater transparency and traceability in the sourcing and management of sustainable materials, from raw materials to finished products.

"Being named a UNGC LEAD Company for the second consecutive year reflects Sae-A Trading’s continued efforts to expand its role and strengthen its contributions as a leader in Korea’s apparel manufacturing industry," said Saila Kim, Executive Vice President of Sae-A Trading. "We will continue to lead ESG initiatives and drive meaningful change across the industry."
