HONG KONG, March 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — AECOM, the trusted global infrastructure leader, today announced that Dr Johnny Cheuk has been appointed as Leader of its Hong Kong practice, effective April 1, 2025. He will lead a multidisciplinary team of over 4,400 professionals across Design and Consulting Services and Site Offices.

In this capacity, Dr Cheuk will oversee the business growth strategy, client services and project delivery, and operations management for AECOM in Hong Kong. Priority focus areas include channeling AECOM’s expertise and experience to support the ongoing development of Northern Metropolis as a strategic new engine for the city’s future economic development, as well as advancing innovation and digital deployment in design and construction to provide solutions that sustain both community and environment.

Dr Cheuk joined AECOM in 2005 and currently heads the Civil Infrastructure and Geotechnical businesses of the Hong Kong practice. He has extensive experience in managing complex and challenging projects including the West Kowloon Station of the MTRC Express Rail Link, Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link Tunnels and recent assignments for relocating facilities into caverns. In 2013, he was named Young Engineer of the Year by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), for his contributions to the continuous development of Hong Kong through engineering achievements.

In addition to his role at AECOM, Dr Cheuk is actively involved in industry affairs. His current external appointments include Vice Chair of ICE Hong Kong Association and Council Member of HKIE. Furthermore, he was elected as Chairman of the HKIE Geotechnical Division for the 2022/2023 term. He also serves as Adjunct Professor at the University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
