Essential and ExxonMobil supporting science and technology research institute at Chiang Mai University

PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) and its subsidiary ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Thailand have provided funds to the Chiang Mai University Research Institute to support research and development. Dr. Thaweesak Bunluesin, director of PTTEP, handed a check for 70,000 baht to Associate Professor Sanchai Jaturasitha, the director and Assistant Professor Dr. Wongsakorn Wongsapai, the deputy director of the research institute. The two oil companies also joined a subcommittee meeting to study the potential of greenhouse gas reduction and investment in carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) technology. The firms are engaged in refining and marketing quality petroleum products and specialty chemicals and support the development of social responsibility in various areas.
