Bangkok Produce Public Company Limited (BKP) has launched a campaign to address PM 2.5 air pollution, particularly in Northern Thailand, by targeting the burning of corn fields after harvest. The company, a major supplier for Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited, is calling on the public to report instances of corn field burning and has introduced a public reporting platform for this purpose. BKP aims to work with farmers and the general public to combat corn field fires, which significantly contribute to air pollution in the region. They are also collaborating with local corn partners to promote non-burning agricultural methods through the “Partner to Green” project. BKP is committed to addressing PM 2.5 dust and haze and will take action against farmers who repeatedly violate guidelines for field burning.
