Thai Fruit Exports Arrives at Southern Chinese Port

BANGKOK (NNT) – A shipment of more than 3,000 tons of fruit exports from Thailand has arrived in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou.

According to reports from China’s official Xinhua news agency, a ship carrying more than 3.000 tons of Thai fruit exports, including durians and mangosteens, recently arrived at the Port of Nansha in Guangzhou. It is considered this year’s first express shipment because the journey from Laem Chabang Port to the Port of Nansha took only four days.

Guangzhou port officials said durian and other fruit shipments must be transported as soon as possible to maintain their freshness. To achieve this goal, operational plans have been developed to reduce shipment time, such as using point-to-point logistics and fresh fruit customs procedures while ensuring in advance that the shipments are free of contamination.

Guangzhou is southern China’s largest fruit distribution center, with the Port of Nansha providing integrated Cold Chain Management logistics to preserve the freshness of fruit imports such as durians, which are in high demand.

Transport companies are currently offering express shipment services to transport Thai goods to China via various channels. At least 4,000 containers of fresh durians are expected to be exported from Thailand to the Port of Nansha by the end of 2022.
