The Tourism Authority of Thailand supported PATA’s 25th-anniversary celebration by hosting PTM 2024, showcasing sustainable tourism. Thailand won four PATA Gold Awards for various initiatives in sustainability and social responsibility.
TAT strengthens Thailand’s presence at PATA Travel Mart 2024
Bangkok, 3 September 2024 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has reaffirmed its steadfast support for the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) on the 25th anniversary of PATA Headquarters’ establishment in Bangkok. To commemorate the event, TAT hosted the PATA Travel Mart (PTM) 2024, which marks the 47th edition of this significant travel trade exhibition.
PTM 2024 highlights and celebrations
Held from 27-29 August at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), PTM 2024 featured a vibrant welcome reception on 27 August. Delegates experienced a Thai temple fair atmosphere, complete with Thai traditional game kiosks, art and cultural performances, including traditional puppet and contemporary Thai music shows, and a Phi Ta Khon happy ghost dance.
Achievements and awards for Thailand
At PTM 2024, TAT promoted sustainable tourism, showcasing 16 exhibitors and various award-winning initiatives. Notably, Thailand won four PATA Gold Awards, including TAT’s “Monk on the Raft” photograph and the “The Diversity of Southern Border” video documentary. Sivatel Bangkok Hotel was also recognized for its “From Kitchen to Chicken and Beyond” initiative.
