Great news for durian lovers! China has officially approved 10 Thai laboratories to test for “Basic Yellow 2” (BY2) and cadmium in fresh durians.
This move aligns with the Thai Prime Minister’s urgent policy
to ensure smooth, high-standard durian exports during this harvest season (April-May).

The Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives announced the successful negotiations. China has agreed to add 7 more labs and reinstate 2 previously delisted ones. Thailand now has a total of 10 certified labs nationwide,
covering Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Songkhla, Khon Kaen, and Chachoengsao.
These labs can handle over 100,000 tons of durian for export.
