Promoting Thai Tourism in Taipei
Taipei, 13 August 2024 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) showcased a variety of travel experiences and exclusive privileges for Taiwanese tourists at the “Amazing Thailand Travel Fair 2024” from 10-11 August. This event celebrated the newly implemented visa exemption for Taiwanese tourists, aiming to foster Thailand-Taiwan relations. TAT Deputy Governor, Mr. Nithee Seeprae, expressed his hope that the event would inspire Taiwanese visitors with Thailand’s diverse attractions, culinary delights, vibrant festivals, and warm hospitality.
Engaging Activities and Cultural Showcases
The event, coordinated with several Taiwanese and Thai organizations, featured a captivating ambiance inspired by the Loi Krathong Festival. Guests enjoyed traditional dances, Muay Thai performances, and a Thai Xylophone solo by YouTuber “Fino the Ranad”. Special acts included a drag show by Natalia Pliacam and demonstrations of traditional Thai dishes and beverages. Attendees also participated in biodegradable krathong-making workshops and photo sessions in traditional Thai attire.
Sustainable Tourism and Exclusive Offers
The fair emphasized sustainability through the use of biodegradable containers and proper waste management. Around 30 tourism businesses, including Thai restaurants, travel agencies, and airlines, presented exclusive travel packages and special airfares. TAT aims to attract 768,000 Taiwanese travelers to Thailand this year, having already recorded a 64% increase, with 630,332 Taiwanese visitors in the first seven months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.
